TONAK

Tonak is one of the biggest and most important headwear producers and exporters in the world. Hats have always represented an essential part of both women’s and men’s wardrobes. That is why the Tonak history extends all the way back to 1799. Tonak is the Czech company doing business in Nový Jičín, and its name is actually an acronym made from Czech words, ‘TOvárny NA Klobouky’ (hat-making factory).
Tonak’s extensive production programme primarily includes felt hats and semi-finished felt hat products. However, there is also a room for berets and hats for the military and armed forces, fez hats, and classical Jewish hats. A more than two-hundred-year production tradition in Nový Jičín and Strakonice, together with the considerable knowhow, guarantees the highest quality of products. Tonak products are currently exported to more than fifty countries worldwide.
Hats of various colours and shapes are crafted via up to 150 operations, of which more than 80 can only be carried out manually.
The quality of all the Tonak products is one of their main properties. However, the same emphasis is also put on the current trends, shapes, and colours of any headwear. Tonak cooperates with the leading fashion designers and bloggers. Its traditional customers include prestigious brands such as Borsalino, Stetson, Pietro Filipi, and the famous British designer, Philip Treacy, who designs hats for the British royal family.
